Aboard the Amerolla bound for Mariehamn

The Expedition is now safely aboard a ship that is 9 stories tall and equipped with a casino, shopping aracde, more restaurants than can be counted, a disco, and a helicopter pad. I spent considerable time early in the voyage wandering aimlessly amid this nordic floating wonderland.

We pass island after island and now have set a course into the Gulf of Bothnia, heading, I hope to the fabled Åland Islands. In case you think I'm going soft, I'll resume biking in a couple of hours for an unknown destination within the archipelago. More later.

Hi Bob. I just returned from Hawaii and checked out the blog for the first time. Sounds like you definitely have a book in the making. One question: Who is in this expedition you keep mentioning. Did you bring someone along that we don't know about? Sly devil. What do you need for your care package. Cliff is still committed to sending something along. Also, check out the New Yorker website at www.newyorker.com for a great story on Sibelius. I have the hard copy saved for you in case you miss it.

Take good care.

Dan, thanks for the message. I will make an inventory as I progress north. The supply situation is changing. As for the Team, while I guess that's what happens when you spend too much time pedaling alone through endless forests and lakes. You begin to think of yourself, your bike, even your socks, as part of the Team. Hey, I'm trying to keep sane, here. Keep in touch.
